Alex Kaskie

Alex teaches hip hop, tumbling for dance and musical theater.  He was born and raised in Carson City.  He grew up dancing and teaching at his mother's studio, WNPAC. Recently he as been an instructor at Studio One in Henderson and  Summerlin, Nevada. He has also been an instructor at Western Nevada Performing Arts Center,  Performers Studio and Dancin" Performing Arts.  He has been Crew Director for these studios and won  many 1st Place overall and Judges Awards  He appeared professionally in numerous Commercials and Musical Theater Productions.  

Miss Kimberly

Kimberly is the DWS Administrative Director and so much more.  Kimberly teaches several styles of dance, but her love reigns with Jazz.  Teaching at several local studio's has always been a passion!  She has a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, as well as a degree in Chemistry and Math.   While attending UNR, Kimberly completed several dance programs and became an actor with the West Coast Off Broadway Production and held a leading role in an anti- violence Monologue/Improv style production piece to end domestic violence against women, which traveled all over the west coast.  Kimberly has also worked and studied with Gary Austin in Los Angeles.  She trained with the Reno Bighorns Dance Team, worked in several studio's all over the west coast, participated in conventions and taken workshops from some of the best dancers in the world as well.  She has coached soccer, volleyball and baseball and is currently getting her Pilates Certification. 

Desiree Robbins
Classes Offered: Jazz, Lyrical, Ballet, Musical Theatre, Turns/Leaps, Stretch Class
Desiree has a passion for teaching & devotes much of her time training the dancers that you see in front of the camera.  Her real expertise is  fine-tuning dancer's technique, style, & movement to create a more refined, professional product. She is recognized in the field to be able to achieve these things by analyzing form & operative skills, producing efficiency in movement.  With well over 18 years experience , she speaks in an age appropriate terminology to all her students, which creates a strong bond between teacher/coach & student.
 Desiree has become a much sought after choreographer & dance coach, including a ten-year working relationship with the NFL Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, as well as work with the NBA Kings Royal Court Dancers, the University of Illinois, University of Alabama, University of Wisconsin & many other private competitive teams.
She has been on the faculty of the University of California, Irvine, for more than four years & is a guest master teacher for the University of Arizona and California State University, Fullerton.  We cannot believe that she will be teaching here in the Carson Valley

Michelle Lindsey

Michelle has been a Douglas County girl her whole life. she graduated from Douglas High School in 1996 Michelle’s dance experience dates back to kindergarten when she took classes from Miss Ann. After years of classes, competitions, trips to Florida to perform, auditions, teaching and the occasional injury she finally became the dancer she wished she was when she was five. Hard work pays off! For the last 3 years Michelle has participated in the “Gotta Dance” fundraiser for Douglas County’s Suicide Prevention Network. In doing so she became reacquainted with Miss Ann. Being given the opportunity to dance again, create routines, elevate the new generation of dancers, choose music and costumes, and watch it all come to fruition is absolutely priceless. . Michelle has been married to her wonderful husband, Dave Lindsey, for 16 years, and has 3 beautiful daughters: Cierah, Jade and Danika. The girls are all active in dance, sports, and various school activities.  Michelle teaches Ballet to all levels at the Dance Workshop.

Tracey George
Tracey came to our studio in 2011. She has been teaching children and adults of all ages since 1983. . Teaching is her passion and she has taught numerous subjects. She is as much in love with her work today as when she first began. Tracey is our Baby and Tiny Tunes Director/teacher as well as our Advanced Jazz  teacher.  . She has taught countless dance techniques on all levels, music motor skill development, and rehab therapies. Her goal has always been to  instill in her students, the joy and confidence that comes with learning new skills.  Tracey developed Every Mountain Music, a music program for children birth - 3 years. Tracey’s choreography has been seen in Japan Australia, California and New York and has won outstanding choreography in many competions.  Tracey lives in the Carson  Valley with her husband, Ron and son, Luke.  Tracey is also the piano teacher at the Dance Workshop.

Rachael Prosser  

Rachael  grew up at the Dance Workshop where she danced with the competition team and won many awards  She has also won many Pageants throughout the country including Miss Teen Nevada with the Miss America Organization.  Rachael attended UNR and graduated in Art History.  She has been certified in Pilates through  the prestigious Full Circle Pilates.    She is an instructor at K2 Pilates and now will be working with our dancers in the Pilates Method.  She dabbled last year in pilates with dancers and now we are the first dance studio in the area to bring Joseph PIlates' principles into the classroom as a full part of our curriculum.    She will also be teaching leaps and turns and tap.  We are so glad to see her smiling face back at the studio.

Ann and Craig Peters own the Dance Workshop.

 Ann has been teaching in the Carson Valley since 1980. She is the studio's main tap teacher.   Ann had a large studio in the Napa Valley before relocating.   Ann teaches the  beginners 5 years to advanced .  "We have been fortunate to have won many national awards over the years.  Several of our dancers have gone on to  Broadway, with dance teams of  the L A Lakers,  Denver Broncos, and the Warriors.  Some even have started their own studios.  Ann was voted  Nevada's Women of the Year in 2002.   "Many of the dancers stay with us from kindergarten until graduation so we are fortunate to be a part of their lives for a long time."  Ann also teaches  Ballroom .  The Dance Workshop has been very active in the Suicide Prevention fundraiser, Gotta Dance for the last 5 years. 
Craig is the ballroom instructor at the Dance Workshop. He teaches both youth and adults. Craig keeps it real for the guys. He is very analytical and has great empathy for males on the dance floor. His classes are always packed. Oh, by the way, Craig and Ann met on the dance floor. You will also see Craig behind the scenes, repairing, drawing backdrops, creating props and laughing with the kids. Craig also is extremely involved with the Douglas County Suicide Prevention yearly Fundraiser. Craig also has his own business, Capco, which removes rubber from airport runways.  Ann and Craig live in Genoa and have 5 children and 6 granddaughters.  

Shayla Pinther

Shayla began her dance career at the age of 2 in Boise Idaho. She's studied many different disciplines such as ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, and modern. She traveled across the north western region of the United States dancing and received a scholarship to dance in New York City! Shayla has been teaching for three years and was an assistant for two years prior. Her choreography has received high awards in competitions over the years, but her main goal is to make a difference in people's lives.  She  loves all of her students and focuses on their well being both on and off the dance floor.
